Ignacio has extensive experience in crisis situations spanning different sectors, holding senior level positions on several projects.
Prior to joining Sandton, Ignacio was a Director at Noraction, where he was responsible for operational restructuring and “turnarounds,” as well as advising both investors and creditors in those situations. Before Noraction, he was a Senior Associate at Alvarez & Marsal, advising several operational and financial restructuring processes in different sectors and countries. Ignacio began his career in corporate finance as a Financial Analyst and Controller at EADS (Airbus), and subsequently as the CFO of Salvesen Logistics.
Emmanuel has 10 years of experience in restructuring advising investors on distressed lending and/or buy-outs as well as assisting management teams of businesses in difficulty.
He started his career with PwC's Business Recovery Services team in Paris. In 2014, he moved to London to work for THM Partners where he worked on international restructurings in Iceland, Germany, France, the UK and Italy. He joined Sandton Capital in February 2020.
Steven serves as Chief Compliance Officer and Tax Director for Sandton Capital. He was most recently a manager in the asset management group at Ernst & Young, New York. Prior to Ernst & Young, New York, Steven was a member of the US Tax Desk at Ernst & Young in Tel Aviv, Israel. Steven has also worked in the international tax and alternative investment group at PricewaterhouseCoopers, New York. Steven is a member of the New York State Bar.
Before joining Sandton as a Senior Advisor, Andy ran Lloyds Banking Group's Mid Corporate Business Support operation across the North and Scotland.
Appointed at the height of the financial crisis in 2008, he and his teams assumed responsibility for some of the Bank's most challenging, complex, and sensitive positions. Previously, Andy led the Leveraged Finance team for Lloyds in the North, structuring debt in support of private equity backed management buy-outs, originating and transacting over £500m of deals personally. Before this, he spent the majority of his 34-year career in corporate relationship management, encompassing both SMEs in the Midlands and global corporates in the City. He pioneered a strategic advisory offering to a group of the Bank's mid corporate clients. He has extensive transactional, operational, and financial restructuring and performance improvement experience across a broad range of sectors and businesses. Based in York, Andy is well known to business communities across the North and is an active member of the Institute for Turnaround.
Catherine serves as Controller for Sandton Operations (Europe) in Luxembourg. Before joining the company, she worked as senior accountant at Fiduciaire Treuconsult SA. She has also been Head of Network Management Correspondent Banking with both Notenstein Privatbank in Switzerland and Banque du Luxembourg.
Colby's background includes investment banking, distressed debt, and commercial banking.
Colby most recently worked for Chiron Financial where he was responsible for leading the execution of financing, sale, and financial advisory assignments across a number of industries and situations. Prior to his experience at Chiron, Colby had credit underwriting roles at both Societe Generale and Macquarie Group where he worked with clients in the energy sector. Colby has a BBA in Finance with a minor in accounting from the University of Texas at Austin.
Prior to joining Sandton, Jordan was an M&A Associate at Lincoln International with experience across Consumer, Industrials and Healthcare sectors in the London & Stockholm office. Before that, he was a Restructuring Executive at EY with experience across Construction, Consumer and Healthcare sectors in the London office and an Audit Executive with experience in the Construction sector in the London & Dubai office.
Dimitri serves as Chief Financial Officer for Sandton Capital. He was most recently the Senior Fund Controller at the Rohatyn Group. Prior to Rohatyn, Dimitri worked in corporate finance and tax consultancy for Ernst & Young. He is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive).
Jordan has held portfolio company management and turnaround advisory roles, in addition to his experience in private equity, distressed debt and investment banking.
Before joining Sandton, he was a founder and head of M&A for National Pecan Company, a private equity platform created to build one of the world’s largest pecan growers. Prior to National Pecan, Jordan worked for Mellon HBV Alternative Strategies, where he was responsible for the origination and management of debt and equity securities with a focus on distressed middle market investments across a variety of industries. Prior to that he was with Loughlin Meghji + Company, a turnaround/restructuring management consulting firm that provides debtor and creditor advisory services. Jordan began his career at CIBC Oppenheimer in their corporate finance group.
Jean-Bernard had a long career in banking, mostly at LCL / Crédit Lyonnais.
Prior to joining Sandton as a Senior Advisor, he was Head of Special Situations at LCL. Before that, he was Managing Director at Banque Themis (bank specialized in helping and financing companies involved in bankruptcy or receivership). He previously worked within the Internal Audit department of Credit Lyonnais.
Matt's experience includes over 35 years of investing in Private Equity, Management Turnarounds, Distressed Debt, and Special Situations with a recognized expertise in Europe.
Prior to joining Sandton Capital, Matt worked as a PM for two firms, Eos and MeehanCombs with the majority of the portfolios invested in European distressed credits, restructurings and special situations in multiple jurisdictions. During that time, he invested over $3 billion in more than 200 companies across the credit spectrum. Prior to that, Matt was a partner at Stolberg, Meehan and Scano as well as Weiss, Peck and Greer investing in turnaround buyouts and restructurings. Earlier in his career, Matt worked as a crisis manager and invested in distressed credits at The First Boston Corporation.
Rael's background includes investment banking, distressed debt and private & public equities.
Prior to co-founding Sandton Capital, Rael worked at Knighthead Capital Management where he invested in distressed bank loans, high yield bonds and other hybrid securities. Prior to Knighthead, Rael was on the principal investing team at GoldenTree Asset Management where he invested in debt and equity securities in a variety of industries. Rael also worked on the investment team, as a generalist, at private equity firm Vestar Capital Partners. Earlier in his career, Rael worked in the leveraged finance group in the investment banking division of Credit Suisse.

Fernando’s experience includes global business development and relationship management in both the institutional as well as in the high net-worth spaces spanning a variety of asset classes and geographies.
Prior to joining Sandton Capital in August 2020, Fernando was the Head of Client Relations and Marketing at Chilton Investment Company, a multi-billion dollar Equity Long/Short hedge fund. He started his career at Brown Brothers Harriman where, over 17 years, he held numerous posts including Global Head of Equity Sales as well as Head of Latin American Investment Advisory.
Rob's background includes distressed debt, commercial banking and management consulting for financial institutions.
Rob has covered a wide range of geographies and industries since joining Sandton in 2010. Prior to Sandton Capital, Rob was part of the 2005 founding team at Square 1 Bank, where he held a variety of general management and corporate development roles in growing that institution to over $1 billion in assets. Prior to that, he was a management consultant, most recently with The Monitor Group. At Monitor, he had extensive experience advising financial institutions and other large corporate clients on growth strategies.
Bobby's experience includes investment banking, distressed debt and private equity.
Prior to opening the Los Angeles office for Sandton Capital, he was Managing Partner of RCR Financial, an investment firm targeting distressed bank loans. Bobby was previously President of KWP Financial, the distressed debt investment division of Kennedy Wilson. Bobby was also a private equity investor with CKE Associates. Bobby began his career as an investment banker with Merrill Lynch and Chase Manhattan Bank.
Graham has been appointed as a Senior Advisor to Sandton and will be primarily involved in supporting Matt Meehan to advance the UK and European franchise. He is currently Executive Chairman of the Institute for Turnaround and a former Global Head of Restructuring and Recoveries for Barclays Corporate Banking.
Graham has over 40 years of banking experience all spent with Barclays during which he held a number of senior executive positions in Credit Risk Management. However, the last 15 years of his career was spent in the restructuring arena, the last 5 as Global Head during which he was heavily involved with Barclays European business as well as Barclays Private Equity reporting direct to him. He has a wealth of experience in supporting business in various stages of distress throughout the cycle and varying from SME’s to PLCV’s with global reach.
Lionel serves as Controller for Sandton Capital. He was most recently the Controller at National Pecan Company. Prior to National Pecan, Lionel worked at Mellon HBV Alternative Strategies LLC as the Controller. He is a Certified Public Accountant.
Tom's experience includes investment banking, distressed debt and public equities.
Prior to co-founding Sandton Capital, the majority of Tom’s investment experience was as a generalist with the middle market distressed debt fund of John Levin & Co.. Tom was also an investment analyst covering cyclical public equities for Viking Global and Calypso Capital. Prior to his capital investing experience, Tom was a vice president in the leverage finance group of Credit Suisse. At the start of his career, Tom was an investment banking analyst in the Global Energy Group of Merrill Lynch.
Senior Advisor: Generally, Sandton Senior Advisors are similar to "Operating Partners" who provide general or specific industry expertise on particular projects or transactions. All other persons listed as members of the Investment or Operation Team are designated “access persons” pursuant to Rule 204A-1 under the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, as amended, and are subject to Sandton’s Code of Ethics and full compliance program. Senior Advisors are designated as “non-access persons” and therefore may either not be subject to Sandton’s compliance program or depending on involvement, may be subject to a limited compliance program, which results in more limited or specialized role.
