Prior to joining Sandton, Ignacio was a Director at Noraction, where he was responsible for operational restructuring and “turnarounds,” as well as advising both investors and creditors in those situations. Before Noraction, he was a Senior Associate at Alvarez & Marsal, advising several operational and financial restructuring processes in different sectors and countries. Ignacio began his career in corporate finance as a Financial Analyst and Controller at EADS (Airbus), and subsequently as the CFO of Salvesen Logistics.
He started his career with PwC's Business Recovery Services team in Paris. In 2014, he moved to London to work for THM Partners where he worked on international restructurings in Iceland, Germany, France, the UK and Italy. He joined Sandton Capital in February 2020.

Prior to joining Sandton, Toby qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ICAEW) with Grant Thornton UK. He then worked as the CFO of a SME focused distressed and special situation firm based in London before moving into interim CFO/FD positions for businesses with a focus on those with restructuring requirements or an element of distress. He has held senior positions within fashion, construction and commercial property, wholesale food, and financial services.
Appointed at the height of the financial crisis in 2008, he and his teams assumed responsibility for some of the Bank's most challenging, complex, and sensitive positions. Previously, Andy led the Leveraged Finance team for Lloyds in the North, structuring debt in support of private equity backed management buy-outs, originating and transacting over £500m of deals personally. Before this, he spent the majority of his 34-year career in corporate relationship management, encompassing both SMEs in the Midlands and global corporates in the City. He pioneered a strategic advisory offering to a group of the Bank's mid corporate clients. He has extensive transactional, operational, and financial restructuring and performance improvement experience across a broad range of sectors and businesses. Based in York, Andy is well known to business communities across the North and is an active member of the Institute for Turnaround.
Catherine serves as Controller for Sandton Operations (Europe) in Luxembourg. Before joining the company, she worked as senior accountant at Fiduciaire Treuconsult SA. She has also been Head of Network Management Correspondent Banking with both Notenstein Privatbank in Switzerland and Banque du Luxembourg.
Colby most recently worked for Chiron Financial where he was responsible for leading the execution of financing, sale, and financial advisory assignments across a number of industries and situations. Prior to his experience at Chiron, Colby had credit underwriting roles at both Societe Generale and Macquarie Group where he worked with clients in the energy sector. Colby has a BBA in Finance with a minor in accounting from the University of Texas at Austin.
Ian joins Sandton having led PwC’s UK Restructuring practice. He was responsible for the UK’s largest restructuring team of 800 and was subsequently made PwC’s Northern Regional Leader responsible for all disciplines. He played a key role on notable assignments, including UK Coal, Lehman Brothers, Phones 4 U, Petroplus, and Carillion.
Dimitri serves as Chief Financial Officer for Sandton Capital. He was most recently the Senior Fund Controller at the Rohatyn Group. Prior to Rohatyn, Dimitri worked in corporate finance and tax consultancy for Ernst & Young. He is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive).

Jay joined Sandton Capital from GulfStar Group, where he was an associate executing sell-side engagements for privately held middle market companies. His transaction experience spans manufacturing, distribution, and services sectors throughout the United States. Prior to joining GulfStar Group, Jay was with Frost Bank in both lender and credit analyst roles.
Before joining Sandton, he was a founder and head of M&A for National Pecan Company, a private equity platform created to build one of the world’s largest pecan growers. Prior to National Pecan, Jordan worked for Mellon HBV Alternative Strategies, where he was responsible for the origination and management of debt and equity securities with a focus on distressed middle market investments across a variety of industries. Prior to that he was with Loughlin Meghji + Company, a turnaround/restructuring management consulting firm that provides debtor and creditor advisory services. Jordan began his career at CIBC Oppenheimer in their corporate finance group.

Javier joins Sandton Capital Partners with previous experience in different areas of investment banking, such as M&A, DCM and ECM, after having worked in the investment banking divisions of Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank and ING. Additionally, he has previous experience from working in Spanish law firm Cuatrecasas and also in Deloitte. Javier holds a dual degree in business administration and law from Universidad Pontificia Comillas, and he has done international exchanges in Singapore Management University and SciencesPo Paris. He is fluent in Spanish, English and French.
Prior to joining Sandton Capital, David worked on the cross-asset sales desk at Goldman Sachs. Before Goldman, he received his MBA from Wharton, and before that he played 10 years of professional hockey for the Los Angeles Kings Organization and the Red Bull Hockey Organization in Germany & Austria.
Prior to joining Sandton Capital, Matt worked as a PM for two firms, Eos and MeehanCombs with the majority of the portfolios invested in European distressed credits, restructurings and special situations in multiple jurisdictions. During that time, he invested over $3 billion in more than 200 companies across the credit spectrum. Prior to that, Matt was a partner at Stolberg, Meehan and Scano as well as Weiss, Peck and Greer investing in turnaround buyouts and restructurings. Earlier in his career, Matt worked as a crisis manager and invested in distressed credits at The First Boston Corporation.

Prior to joining Sandton, John spent two years at Aurelius Capital Management, a stressed/distressed credit and event-driven investment manager, where he led Investor Relations and Marketing. Before that, he spent two years with Graticule Asset Management Asia, a global macro hedge fund, and two years with Greenwich Associates, a consulting firm dedicated to the financial services industry.

He was Head of Restructuring for EMEA and APAC at the Royal Bank of Scotland from 2008 and, prior to that, for Europe and South America at ABN AMRO Bank, responsible for the distressed wholesale and mid-market as well as project finance and real estate lending portfolios. Ad was also with Alvarez & Marsal Restructuring, where he was involved in assignments in the Netherlands, France and South Africa. Based in Amsterdam and having worked on numerous international transactions across Europe, he is well known to the restructuring communities in the Netherlands and other European countries. Ad is a member of the Dutch Restructuring Association.
Prior to co-founding Sandton Capital, Rael worked at Knighthead Capital Management where he invested in distressed bank loans, high yield bonds and other hybrid securities. Prior to Knighthead, Rael was on the principal investing team at GoldenTree Asset Management where he invested in debt and equity securities in a variety of industries. Rael also worked on the investment team, as a generalist, at private equity firm Vestar Capital Partners. Earlier in his career, Rael worked in the leveraged finance group in the investment banking division of Credit Suisse.
Rob has covered a wide range of geographies and industries since joining Sandton in 2010. Prior to Sandton Capital, Rob was part of the 2005 founding team at Square 1 Bank, where he held a variety of general management and corporate development roles in growing that institution to over $1 billion in assets. Prior to that, he was a management consultant, most recently with The Monitor Group. At Monitor, he had extensive experience advising financial institutions and other large corporate clients on growth strategies.
Prior to opening the Los Angeles office for Sandton Capital, he was Managing Partner of RCR Financial, an investment firm targeting distressed bank loans. Bobby was previously President of KWP Financial, the distressed debt investment division of Kennedy Wilson. Bobby was also a private equity investor with CKE Associates. Bobby began his career as an investment banker with Merrill Lynch and Chase Manhattan Bank.

Prior to co-founding Sandton Capital, the majority of Tom’s investment experience was as a generalist with the middle market distressed debt fund of John Levin & Co.. Tom was also an investment analyst covering cyclical public equities for Viking Global and Calypso Capital. Prior to his capital investing experience, Tom was a vice president in the leverage finance group of Credit Suisse. At the start of his career, Tom was an investment banking analyst in the Global Energy Group of Merrill Lynch.
